ڪاڪِ نَہ جَهلِئا ڪاپَڙِي، موھِئا ڪَنھِن نَہ مالَ،
سوڍِيُون سِجهائي ھَلِئا، ھَئَي تَنِي جي حالَ،
جٖي ڇورِنِ ڏِنا ڇالَ، تَہ لاھُوتِي لَنگِهي وِئا.

سمجهاڻي

اهڙن ڪاپڙين (سالڪن ۽ عارفن) کي ڪاڪ (هن جھان) جي مال ۽ دولت واري ظاهري ڪشش روڪي نہ سگهي. هو جيڪي حال (جي منزل) وارا هئا، سي وڏين سانئڻين توڻي اميرزادين کي بہ ٺڪرائي ويا. هنن کي ريجهائڻ (ڦاسائڻ) لاءِ نين نويلين (الهڙ) ڇوڪرين کڻي ڪيترا بہ ناز نخرا ڪيا ۽ پنھنجي جسم کي ڪيترا موڙا ڏنا، تڏهن بہ هي لاهوتي (وڏيءَ منزل وارا سالڪ) هنن ڏانھن ڪو ڌيان ڏيڻ کان سواءِ، اڳتي پنھنجي منزل ڏانھن وڌي ويا.

Indeed, these ascetic nomads remained unaffected and undeterred by the allure of "Kak," its ostentatious wealth, and the lavish lifestyle of "Moomal**" Despite her and her entourage's amorous attempts, it was the ascetics who left them** Their journey continued undisturbed, as they remained resolute in their pursuit of a higher purpose, unswayed by worldly temptations**

ڪَاڪِ نَجَلِئَا ڪَاپَرِيْ مُوْهِئَا ڪِهْ نَمَالَ﮶
سُوْڊيٌ سِجَائٖيْ هَلِئَا هَيْ تَنٍ جٖيْ حَالَ﮶
جٖيْ ڇُوْرِنِ ڎِنَا ڇَالَ تَلَاهُوْتِيْ لَکِيْ وِئَا﮶

TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी

काकि न झलिआ कापड़ी। मोहिआ किंहिं न माल।
सोढियूं सिझाए हलिआ। है तनी जे हाल।
जे छोरिनि डि॒ना छाल। त लाहोती लंघे विआ।

ROMAN SINDHI

Kaak na Jhaliya kapirri, mohiya kehn na maal'a,
SoDhhiyoon Sijhae haliya, hae tanee je Haal'a,
Je chhoran Dina chhal, ta lahooti langhe wiya.

  • These ascetic nomads were not fascinated and restrained by (the splendour of) Kak; nor were they seduced by its apparent wealth. In fact inspite of the gorgeous way of Mumal's living, it was the ascetics who captivated her. Though she and her entourage acted amorously but all in vain. The hermits continued their journey unconcernedly.
    Note: This verse may be read in any of the following backgrounds:
    i) Rano conquered Kak and won Mumal. He used to pay her frequent nocturnal visits. During one such visit, he saw Mumal asleep with another 'man'. In fact her sister Sumal had dressed as a man and she was asleep with Mumal in those clothes. Rano was exasperated at what he considered infidelity of Mumal, and inspite of her beauty and wealth he left her for good. She had ceased to be his Ideal.
    ii) Mian Noor Muhammad Kalhoro, the then ruler of Sindh, once invited Shah Abdul Latif to launcheon in his palace. Secretly he had set beautiful dancing girls to seduce Shah. He left his guest on some ruse. The girls played their wiles ideally but all in vain. When Mian Noor Muhammad returned, he found Shah unmindful of them. He particularly drew attention of Shah Latif to their charms. The latter is said to have recited this verse in reply.
    iii) Paradise dwellers would not be content with houris and other rich diversions there. They would be keen to see Allah directly and to be near Him. They would request Him accordingly. To their extreme satisfaction their request would be granted. It is quite likely that by girls Shah may have meant houris.
    جس کا عمل ہے بے غرض اس کی جزا کچھ اور ہے
    حور و خیام سے گذر بادہ جام سے گذر

    He who acts selflessly, deserves a dinctinct requital other than the huris, tents, wine and cup.
    عاشقا نرا با قیامت روز محشر کارنیست
    عاشقانرا جز تماشای جمالِ یار نیست
    Lovers are not concerned with the proceedings on the Day of Judgement. They are keen about seeing Allah.

    Kaak did not stop yogis, nor did riches hold them in thrall,
    Such ones put in distress many a beautiful lass;
    Not moved by their coquetry, yogis went ahead.

    Kaak could not stop them, nor wealth seduced them,
    They wounded Sodhees, they are in distress,
    The damsels showed all blandishment and used ruses, but the,
    Lahootie divines went ahead.


    لم يمنع المتزهدين المتجولين.
    طلسم قصر كاك ولم يعجبهم ولم يدهشهم المال.
    الذين حالاتهم هكذا هم عبروا الطرق وجذبوا أنظار النساء والأميرات الحميلات وتقدموا إلى الأمام وخرجوا فائزين وغانمين لو قفزت ورفصت الخرآئد والفتيات لم يتورط الإلهيون فى شباكهن وعبروا السبل وخرجوا وفازوا.


    بنھہ سکی نا کاک دی مایا جوگی رمتا ہویا
    چڑھ چڑھ سڑن چھیل مٹیاراں برہوں لانبو لایا
    صدقوں ڈلھہ نا سکیا رانا کہتے نار بتھیرے


    کاک تو روک سکی نہ ان کو، روک سکا نہ مال،
    رنگ دیا ہر اک گوری کو، دکھا کے حسن کمال،
    توڑ گئے سب جال، حسن، ناز و ادا کے۔

      ھِن سُر جي راڳ بابت

    سر راڻو ديسي راڳ آھي. ھن راڳ جي باري ۾ اھو چيو پيو وڃي تہ ھي کماچ، آساوري ۽ ڪافيءَ جي سُرن تي بيٺل آھي. ھن راڳ جي جاتي آڏو سمپورڻ ٿيندي آھي. رات جي پوئين پھر ۾ ھي راڳ ڳايو ويندو آھي.

    راڻي راڳ جا سُر ھيٺينءَ ريت آھن.

    آوروھ: سا، ري، ما، پا، ڌا، سا (صرف مڌم سر ”ما“ ڪومل ٿيندس)

    آومروھ: سا، ني، ڌا، پا، ڌا، پا، ما، ري گا، ري، سا. (واپسيءَ ۾ نکاد ”ني“، مڌم ”ما“ ۽ گنڌار ”گا“ ڪومل سر لڳندس.)
