I swear by Allah that though a captive here, I keep my blanket clean by washing it (i.e. I maintain my purity of life even in prison by offering prayers and leading a chaste life). But since Soomro is mighty, there is hardly room for expostulation (or argumentation) with him. O Allah! Make Umar kind to me! Would that I were to see my consort (i.e. the Prophet) among my kinsmen! Verily all mankind rely on his intercession (with Allah for their salvation).
And shun all pollution. (4, Al-Mudasir).

By God, though in prison, I wash clean my shawl,
Soomro is too powerful for arguments,
O God, make Umer kind to me,
So that I see my consort, the anchor of the whole world.

I am not here on my own, but against my will,
Lateef says, I should fasten tight my shawl around my waist,
Happy are the mates, who are in their native land,
Soft wool of little rams is produced there, wool of longhaired ewes here,
Would that ii enjoy the seasonal sweet fruit,
O man from my village, come to my help in these mansions.
