Latif's says: "The spinners who handled cotton with care, even in small amounts, and then spun yarn, witnessed a remarkably smooth outcome**" Dear mother! Those who crafted fine yarn for muslin fabric reaped a bountiful reward**

تُـبَائٖيْ تَاڪِيْدَس﮼ جَنِ پِڃَايُوْ پَاءُ﮶
لَسِيْ تَندُّ لَطِيْفُ چٖيْ هَلٖيْ تَنِ هَٿَا﮶
مَلْمَلْ مَنجَّا مَنجَّا مَاءَ جٖيْ سِکِيٌ تَنِ سُوْنُ ڪِئُوْ﮶

TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी

तुंबाए ताकीद सें। जनि पिञायो पाउ।
लसी तंदु लतीफ़ चए। हली तनि हथां।
मल्मल मन्झां माअ। जे सिखियूं तनि सोनु किओ॥

Tunbaye takeed'a seen, jan pinjaayo paa'u,
Lasee tand'u latif'u chae, halee tan hathan,
Malmal manJhaan maa'e, je sikhiyoon tan son'u kiyo.

  • Latif says: “Those spinners, who carded the cotton carefully, though in small quantity, and then spun yarn, the latter, as it came out of their hands, looked particularly smooth.” O mother! those of them, who spun yarn fine for muslin cloth, did have a golden harvest.
    Note: Very fine thread is always required for Muslim cloth. It is prized on that account.

    Even if they spin a small quantity of their caroled cotton,
    Lateef says, their hands produced very smooth fiber,
    They, who learnt to spin for muslin, made gold, mother.


    روئی دھنوا کے جن سکھیوں نے کاتا
    عجب ہے ان کے تاروں کی نفاست
    انہیں کا کام ہے ململ بنانا
    ملی ہے ان کو ماں سے یہ وراثت

    دھیان سے دھنوا کر لے آئیں، پاؤ بھی گر کاتار،
    کہے لطیف کہ ان کے ہاتھوں، نکلے سندر تار،
    کاتیں ململ کے جو تار، انہوں نے کمایا سونا۔
