مُٽِيْ مِهْمَانَنِس﮼ رُوْئِيْ رَاتِ وِهَاءِ﮶
جٖيْـلَا نِنڊَ ڪِيَاءِ تٖيْ رُوْزُ رَہ﮼ ٿِيْ رَهَم﮼﮶

TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी
लेल न जागी॒अं लिख सींअ। कुली नोमु किआइ।
क़ुम थी पह्चु क़रीब खे। इज्लिस तो न जुगा॒इ।
मुठी मिह्माननि सें। रोई रात विहाइ।
जेला निन्ड कियाइ। ते रोज़ु रहें थी राह में।
ROMAN SINDHI
Lael'a na jaggi'en likh'a seen'a, kuli naom'u ki'aa'ay,
qum thi pahach'u qareeb'a khhay, ijlis to na juggaa'ay,
muthhi mahmaanan'ay see'n, ro'ee raat'ay wihaa'ay,
jelaa ninD'a ki'aa'ay, tay roz'u rahee'n thi raah'a mayn.
TRANSLATIONS
Last night you did not keep awake even for a moment, but dozed for its entire duration! Now it is time for you to get up, bestir yourself, and follow and overtake the beloved. Any immobility in that behalf would be unworthy of you. O wretched woman! It would have been appropriate if you had kept awake and passed the night in the company of the guests. Since you passed it in sleep, you have to be on the road during the day time, (toiling in search of the beloved)
Note: (1) This verse and the succeeding verses lay stress on performance of Tahajud prayers.
Verily getting up at night is the most potent means of subduing (the baser-self) and most effective in respect of words of prayers. (6, AI-Muzzammil).
You slept the whole night and not for an instant awoke,
Get up, reach your Love, carelessness does not you behoves,
Keep awake and whole night entertain the guests Since you slept you are left in the way.
You did not awaken even for a moment and slept through the night,
Get up to reach the one who is near, indolence does not become you,
O wretched woman, pass the night sitting with the guests,
It is because of your sleep that you fall behind daily.
أنت لم تسهري فى الليل ونمت ورقدت مرة.
قومي والحقي الحبيب. لاينبغي لك أن تجلسين ياكئيبة!
اسهري طول الليل وسامري مع الضيوف.
أنت نمت ورقدت أنت تخلفت وما وصت منزلك.
رہیں جاگدی ساری راتے پل وی اکھ نا لائیں
مانی وصل پنن دا اڑیئے بہہ نا وقت ونجائیں
خدمت وچ مہماناں سندی ساری رات ویہائیں
پوری تیری ریجھ نا ہونی جے توں نیند وَگُتِی
رات سوکر گذاردی ساری
اے سسئی اب کہاں ترا آری
اب نہ وہ کارواں نہ وہ ناقے
رہ گئی کھوئی کھوئی بیداری
درس عبرت یہ خواب غفلت ہے
بے خودی ہے تری خود آزاری
کچھ تو کرلے تلافی۔ٔ مافات
ہائے بیٹھی ہے کیوں تھکی ہاری
ہے ابھی رہگذار میں پنہوں
جا اب اس کی تلاش میں پیاری
کب جاگی تو یار کے کارن، سو کر رات گذاری،
جلدی چل تو یار کی جانب، سستی چھوڑ اے ناری!
جب تیرے مہمان تھے دیور، کرتی شب بیداری،
نیند تھی تجھ کو پیاری، جبھی تو بھٹک رہی ہے۔
