Would that Hassan were here in the battle's plain,
Like a moth he would have over brother scarified himself,
Who is there now to prevent enemy attacking Hussain?

Had Hassan been there when the battle was raging,
He would have been close to his brother, hovered over
him like a moth over a candle,
Who else is there to resist attacks on lord Hussain.
