عِمارَتَ اَنڌَنِ جِي، ڊاٺائِين ٿو ڊاھي،
عَجِّلُوا بِالتَّوْبَةِ قَبْلَ الْمَوْتِ ، ويھُ تُون ويرَمَ لاھي،
پِريان ڪارَڻِ پاڻَ کي، سِگهو ويھُ سَنباھَي،
نِبا گهوٽَ گهَرَنِ ڏي، وَڏِيءَ ويرَ وَناھي،
اُتي عَبدِالْلَطِيفُ چئَي، نِبا ڪَفَنَ پَراھي.

مَوْتَ مُندَ نَآَهٖيْ تَائِبَ ٿِئُوْ تَڪِرَا﮶
وِڌَاءٍ وَڊَنَ لَىءِ کَنُ ڪُهَارِيَ پَاهٖيْ﮶
اَجَلُ اَسَارَنِکٖيْ ڪَامَ وَٽِئُوْ ٿُوْ ڪَاهٖيْ﮶
عِمَارَةَ اَڌَنِجِيْ ڊَاٽَاءٍ ٿُوْ ڊَاهٖيْ﮶
عَجِّلُوْا بِالتَّوْبَةِ قَبْلَ الْمَوْتِ وِہُ تُنْ وٖيْرَمَ لَاهٖے﮶
نِبَا کُوْٽَ کَرَنِڎٖيْ وَڎِيْ وٖيْرَ وَنَاهٖيْ﮶
اُتٖيْ عَبْدُ اللَّطِيْفُ چٖيےْ نِبَا ڪَفَنَ پَرَاهٖيےْ﮶
ھِي وائي ٻين سھيڙيندڙن وٽ ڏِسو
TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी
मोत मुंद न आहे। ताइब थिओ तकड़ा।
वधाईं वढण लए। ग॒नु कुहाड़ीअ पाहे।
अजलु असारनि खे। काम वठिओ थो काहे।
इमारत अंधनि जी। डाठाईं थो डाहे।
अजिलू बितोबति क़बिलल्मोति। वेहु तूं वेरम लाहे।
पिर्यां कारणि पाण खे। सिघो वेहु संबाहे।
निबा घोट घरनि डे॒। वडी॒अ वैर वनाहे।
उते अब्दुल्लतीफ़ चए। निबा कफ़न पराहे॥
ROMAN SINDHI
maot'a mund'a na aahay, ta'ib'a thi'o takirraa,
wadhaaee'n wadhhann'a la'ee, ggan'u kuhaarri'a paahay,
ajal'u asaaran'ay khhay, kaam'a wathhi'o tho kaahay,
imaarat'a andhin'ay ji, Daathhaa'en tho Daahay,
Aj'jiloo bitaobah'ay Qablal'Maot'ay, weh'u too'n weram'a laahay,
piryaan kaarann'ay paann'a khhay, sighho weh'u sanbaahay,
nibaa ghhott'a ghharan'ay dday, wadday'a wer'a wanaahay,
utay Abdul'Lateef'u chae, nibaa kafan'a paraahay.
TRANSLATIONS
There is no particular season for death (to come). Be early repentant. Hurry up and offer repentence before death. Please delay it not. (That is what the tradition directs).
Be quick and keep yourself prepared for meeting with the Beloved.
TRADITION: Prepare yourself for the Day of judgement.
When (the Angel of) death comes, he uses a stick to take out those (souls) who are neglectful (of their eventual journey). He has already introduced the handle in the eye of his hatchet to cut you down. (Additional stanza Mr. Advani)
He simply demolishes (and dashes to ground) mansions (worldly plans) of those blind persons, (who did not think of the Hereafter.)
And if you could see when the angels withdraw the souls of the disbelievers smiting their faces and their backs saying: “taste the punishment of the burning. (50, Anfal).
The Angel of death contacts you uninvited, unheralded and on schedule; and his visit is not far off; (the human life itself being short). Abdul Latif says: ‘‘You are then produced before the Lord naked (without coffin), you shall be clothed later”.
Nighs has drawn for men their reckoning, but they turn away in heedlessness. (1,Anbiya).
Note: (1) According to a tradition all persons shall be resurrected and produced before Allah naked.
(2) Added the following stanza as per Mr. Advani’s edition:
وڌائين وڍڻ لئي، ڳن ڪهاڙيءَ پاهي.
None can foretell death's approach, repent,
"Mae haste and repent before death overtake,"
Delay not to meet the Beloved, prepare yourself,
Death with a lash drive's the forgetful ones,
Death prepares its axe, to cut heads,
Buildings of those blind ones to the ground are razed,
The deserving ones are led with honour to heaven at proper time,
Where God in place of a shroud will grant them dress that brightly shine.
توبوا إلى اﷲ عز وجل وعجلوا لا يعرف أحد عن موته وعن أجله.
ولا يعرف بما هوآت عليه.
عجلوا بالتوبة قبل الموت لا تتأخر ولا تتهاون!
جهز نفسك للقاء الحبيب.
الموت يرمي سهمه الذين هم الساهون والغافلون ليقطع الرأس ويحزه هو ركب معزقة الفأس مقبضا الموت يدمر مباني ومجالس العميان الذين هم الغافلون.
الناس والعارفون الصادقون يرفعون إلى العرض العظيم بعدما يجلسون فى أماكن محترمة هناك اﷲ عز وجل يلبسهم ملابس نورانيه بدون كفن.
نباشد مرگ را موسم، کنون تائب شدن باید
تو قبل از مرگ شو تائب، دراین دیری نمی شاید
بشو آمادہ وصلش، کہ از تو دور می ماند
ازو آنکس کہ شد غافل، اجل ناگہ برا و آمد
تبر تیار باچوب است بریدن زور می خواہد
مکانِ کور چشمان را، بیک چشمک بزیر آرد
زجای خویش نوشہ را، بجای غیر برسالد
نمی ماند کفن برتن، لطیف آن لمحہ چون آید
موت کھڑی ہے تاک میں یارو
آئو کئے پر پچھتائو
ایک ہی لاٹھی سے یہ بیرن
ہانکے گی سب کے جگ جیون
زیادہ پائوں نہ پھیلائو
آئو کئے پر پچھتائو
سن لو غفلت کے متوالو
شیش محل میں رہنے والو
اتنا بھی مت اترائو
آئو کئے پر پچھتائو
جائے گا جب پیا ملن کو
پہنے گا ہر ایک کفن کو
کہے ’لطیف‘ کوی آئو
آئو کئے پر پچھتائو
موت کا موسم کوئی نہیں ہے، کرنی پہ پچھتاؤ،
موت کھڑی ہے تاک میں سکھیو،
موت سے پہلے، توبہ کرلو، یوں نہ وقت گنواؤ،
پیا ملن کو جانا ہوگا، اپنا آپ سجاؤ،
سب کو ہانک کے لے جائے گی، موت کو مت بسراؤ،
لٹکی ہے تلوار اجل کی، اور نہ اب اِتراؤ،
اندھوں کی عمارتیں توڑ دے خود کو بھی سمجھاؤ،
دولہوں کو گھر لیجائینگے یہ تم مت بتلاؤ،
بغیر کفن کے ہونگے وہاں پہ، خود کو یہ سمجھاؤ۔
