- سُر سورٺ جَي ماتام ۽ موڪلاڻي جو بيت
ڏِيَڻُ گهَڻو ڏُھِلو، سِسِي ڏيَڻُ سُکُ،
سو تان ڏِياچَ ڏُکُ، جَو تَعلَقُ رَکي تَندُ سين.
سمجهاڻي
(راءِ ڏياچ ٿو چوي) هر ويل ۽ هر ڏينھن سڄي عمر جو نقد ناڻو ۽ مال متاع ڏيڻ ڏکيو ڪم آهي، پر هڪ ئي ڀيرو سِسي ڏيڻ سکيو سولو ڪم آهي. خاص طور اهو جيڪو ساز جي تند تنوار سان تعلق ٿو رکي يعني تند جي تار تنوار وري وري پيئي سِر وڍي- سو اهو ڏکئي ۾ ڏکيو ڪم آهي. (ن.ب)

ڎِيَنُ کَنُوْن ڎُهْلُوْ سِسِيْ ڎِيَنُ سُکُہ﮶
سُوْ تَا ڎِيَاچَ ڎُکُہ جُوْ تَعلَقُّ رَکٖيْ تَندُّس﮼﮶
ھِي بيت ٻين سھيڙيندڙن وٽ ڏِسو
TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी
डि॒यणु घणू डु॒हिलो। सिसी डे॒णु सुखु।
सो तां डि॒याच डु॒खु। जो तालक़ु रखे तंदु सें।
ROMAN SINDHI
Diyan'u Ghanno Duhlo, Sisee Diyann'u sukh'u,
So tan Diyach Dukh'u, jo tAluq'u rakhe tand'u seen.
TRANSLATIONS
To give away (the mortal) head (against some return) is (relatively) easy, but to donate something (without any return) is really difficult. Hence, O king Diach! However hard it may be, kindly give me what is commensurate with (or what conforms to) my instrumental music.
Note: In this verse Shah seems to have stressed the Quranic exhortation that charity should be given for the pleasure of Allah and not for any return or advantage.
Note: Replaced ڏياچ by ڏيارج as per the Mir's edition.
And for those who spend their wealth to be seen of men and believe not in Allah nor the Last Day. And whoso has Satan for the companion, let him remember that an evil companion is he. (38, Al-N isa).
Even as giving away is hard giving away of head is restful,
Whereas, o Dyach, it is painful to give away is related to strings.
اوکھی ہے نشکام سخاوت سر دینا ہے سوکھا
راگ روحانی دے تُل دینا دان بڑا ہے اوکھا
سر دینے میں سکھ ہے سائیں! دان ہے مشکل کام،
ایسا دے تو دان، جس کا رشتہ تار سے۔
