    In Thar abound narrow deep wells, drawing ropes and Opuntias,
    They happily graze their young animals near the Phogs,*
    How can they take care of me when they are so busy themselves?

    چراگاہیں، کنویں اور ان کے گلے
    وہی خوشیاں وہی معمول ہوگا
    مری حالت کی مارو کو خبر کیا
    وہ اپنے کام میں مشغول ہوگا

    ڈول اور رسے، کنویں اور پنگھٹ، تھوہر اور وہ تھر،
    ریوڑ چرواتے، چرواہے، سبزہ، راہ گذر،
    کیسے لیں گے خبر، جو الجھ گئے ہیں دکھڑوں میں۔
