वरु सा कारी राति। जनुहिं/जंहिं में राह गुमु थिए।
हीउ पणि वञे विसरे। नका हुन जी ताति।

  • (Relatively) welcome is the dark night when you miss (the worldly) way, (and when you fail to attend to the worldly pursuits). Then you shall forget not only all worldly connections and commitments but you shall forget yourself too (and thereby be completely at one with the Beloved). (You shall forget attractions of both the worlds and thus concentrate on achieving union with Allah).

    Blessed be that dark night in which path is lost,
    Do not regret about that one nor forget this one.


    سبھ گواچن رستے، کتنی سوہنی رین سیاہی
    مت یاد نہ ذات ای کائی، اتھاں بس حق ای حق ہووے


    کاش باقی رہے نہ کوئی یار
    حسرت کوے یار مٹ جائے
    کتنی دل کش ہے وہ اندھیری رات
    جس میں ہر رہ گزار مٹ جائے

    اعلیٰ ہے وہ رات کہ جس میں، گم ہوجائے راہ،
    فکر رہے نہ اسکی اور، اسکی رہے نہ چاہ۔
