  سُر جا ٻيا داستان

- سُر جاجڪاڻي جَي وايون جي وائِي

وَڏَڙا ڏانَ ڏِنائِين، کَنيائِين رَختُ ريزالَنِ جو،
ڏاتِيُوم ڏي ڏَڏَنِ کي، سونُ سَراھِيُون سائِين،
اَنڌا مَنڊا آئِيا، سَخا سَڏُ وِڌائِين،
ڪِينَ مَنجهان ئِي ڪِي ڪَري، سو نَہ ساراھِيين سائِين،
وَتُعِز مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِل مَن تَشَآءُ ، آھي سَڀَ اُتائِين،
نَوازِيائِين نُطفو، مَنجهان ڪِينَ ڪِيائِين،
حرفَتَ حَرِيفَنِ جِي، ڀَڃِي سَڀَ ڀَڳائِين،
حاسِدَ سَڀَ حُزنَ ۾، مُدَعِي پاڻَ مُٺائِين.

He generously distributed gifts and donations, extending his support to even those who were deemed unworthy** This could signify that Allah bestowed knowledge upon Adam, thereby maintaining his superiority over the angels** It could also mean that the Prophet shouldered the burden of sins from the sinners, ensuring their salvation** The Lord bestowed valuable gifts upon individuals, even those considered foolish, thereby elevating their importance** He announced the widespread distribution of charitable donations, prompting disabled individuals to also seek His assistance** Why wouldn't you praise the Lord who has raised you from insignificance? In the Quran, He has already declared that He alone has the power to elevate or humble whom He chooses** Inherently, mankind is insignificant - a mere drop of semen - and yet Allah has exalted them** He completely shattered the schemes of contenders, leaving all rivals frustrated** As for the main plaintiff or opponent, Allah personally neutralized them** Abdul Latif says: "O sisters! The Lord delights in doing what pleases Him," as He pleases Himself**

وَڎَرَا ڎَانَ ڎِنَاءٍ کَيَاءٍ رَخْتُ رٖيْزَالَنِجُوْ﮶
ڎَاتِيٌ ڎٖيْ ڎَڎَنِکٖيْ سُوْنُ سَرَاهِيٌ سَاءٍ﮶
اَنڌَّا مَنڊَا آَئِيَا سَخَا سَڎُ وِڌَاءٍ﮶
ڪِيْنَ مَنجَّاءٍ ڪٍ ڪَرٖيْ سُوْ نَہ سَارَاهي﮼ ساءٍ﮶
وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ آَهٖيْ اُتَاءٍ﮶
نَوَازِئَاءٍ نُطْفُوْ مَنجَّا ڪِيْنَ ڪِيَاءٍ﮶
حِرْفَةَ حَرِيْفَنِ جِيْ ڀَڇٍہ سَڀَ ڀَکَاءٍ﮶
حَاسِدَ سَڀْ حُزْنَم﮼ مُدَّعِيْ پَانَ مُٽَاءٍ﮶

TRANSLITERATION
सिन्धी देवनागिरी

वड॒ड़ा डा॒न डि॒नाईं। खंयाईं रख़्तु रेज़ालनि जो।
डा॒तियूं डे॒ ड॒ड॒नि खे। सोनु सराहियूं साईं।
अंधा मन्डा आइया। सख़ा सडु॒ विधाईं।
कीन मन्झां ई की करे। सो न साराहियें साईं।
वतुइज़ु मन तशाउ व तुज़िलु मन तशाउ। आहे सभि उताईं।
नवाज़ियाईं नुत्फ़ो। मन्झां कीन कियाईं।
हिर्फ़त हरीफ़नि जी। भञी सभ भगा॒ईं।
हासिद सभि हुज़्न में। मुदई पाण मुठाईं॥

waddarra ddaan'a ddinaa'ee'n, khhaneeyaa'en rukh'u rezaalan'ay jo,
ddaatiyoom dday ddaddan'ay khhay, soon'u saraahiyoo'n saa'en,
andhaa manDaa aaee'aa, sakhaa sadd'u widhaa'ee'n,
keen'a manjhaa'n thi ki karay, so na saaraaheen saa'ee'n,
Watu'iz Man Tashaa'u Watu'zil Man Tashaa'u, aahay sabh'a utaa'ee'n,
nawaaziyaa'en nutfo, manjhaa'n keen'a kyaa'ee'n,
Harfat'a Hareefan'ay ji, bhanji sabh'a bhaggaa'ee'n,

  • He dispensed liberal gifts and donations. He undertook to lift them where withal of the unworthy persons. This may mean that Allah imparted knowledge to Adam and thereby maintained his superiority over the angels. It may also mean that the Prophet took over the load of sins from the sinners to get them salvation.
    The Lord gave golden (i.e. costly) gifts to them i.e. blockheads and thereby made them important. He proclaimed mass distribution of alms (i.e. amnesty). Accordingly the disabled persons (i.e. heinous sinners) also approached Him for it.
    What? Would you not praise the Lord who has raised you from nothing? He has already asserted (in the Quran) that ‘He alone elevates and debases whom He wills’ The man inherently is nothing - a mere drop of semen and yet Allah has elevated him.
    He shattered completely the stratagems of the contenders (i.e. of the angels against Adam’s appointment as His vicegerent).
    All rivals were put to frustration. So far the (Chief) plaintiff or opponent (i.e. Satan) was concerned, Allah neutralized him personally, Abdul Latif says: “O sisters! The Lord likes to do what pleases Him” (or) He likes Himself (and His praise).
    TRADITION: Allah very much likes to hear His own praise.
    Note: This Vai briefly refers to the early history of the man, that:
    a) as a mould of ‘ringing” clay or product of a ‘despicable fluid’, the man was ‘nothing’ - an absolutely insignificant objoct not worthy of any notice;
    (b) Allah elevated him and appointed him - His vicegerent on earth;
    (c) The angels mildly protested against it, but Allah silenced them because He established the man’s suitability for the high office by imparting knowledge of earthly objects to him;
    (d) Satan emphatically repudiated the man - having an inferior origin and he disobeyed the Divine command to prostrate before him; and finally
    (e) Allah took swift action against this Chief Opponent. He cursed him for all time and expelled him from Paradise at once.


    متاع بیش آن دلدار با در ماندگان دادہ
    دگر سادہ دلان را عقل و حکمت مہربان دادہ
    بجا معمور ہر معذور را کرد آن کریم از خود
    بگو توصیف آن کو بہرہ با بیکسان دادہ
    بر آرد نیست را از ھست واجب شد ثنایءِ او
    بشر را عزت و ذلت بہرصورت ہمان دادہ
    نوازش کرد نطفہ را کہ شد جوہر از پیدا
    حریفان را شکست و ریخت اندر ہزرمان دادہ
    بہ حزن آورد حاسِد مزاحم مدعی را شُد
    محب و دوست را لیکن بجا امن و امان دادہ
    بلی عبداللطیف ای راز دان ای مہربان گوید
    کہ ہست آن دلپسند و دلبری بادوستان دادہ


    وہی ایک شایانِ جود و سخا ہے
    ہر اک آدمی اس کے در کا گدا ہے
    کوئی بے ہنر یا اپاہج ہو کوئی
    بہرحال بندوں پہ اس کی عطا ہے
    وہ چاہے تو عزت، وہ چاہے تو ذلت
    جسے جو ملا ہے اسی سے ملا ہے
    عدم سے کیا اس نے تخلیق سب کچھ
    وہی خالق بزمِ ہر دوسرا ہے
    وہ قادر ہے، ہر شے پہ قدرت ہے اس کو
    اسی کے لئے ساری حمد و ثنا ہے
    انہیں پر ہوا ہے عتاب اس کا نازل
    جنہیں حرصِ دولت نے بہکا دیا ہے
    لطیف ایسے آقا کی تعریف کیا ہو
    مقدم بہرطور اس کی رضا ہے

    دیئے ہیں کیا کیا دان، سب کو اس نے نوازا،
    کیا کیا اس کی دین ہے سائیں، کیا کیا ہیں احسان،
    دیکھ اپاہج اندھے آئے، سب نے پایا مان،
    کیا سے کیا کچھ کر دیتا ہے، اس کو تو پہچان،
    عزت ذزلت وہ ہی دیوے، اس کا یہ فرمان،
    دیکھ ذرا بنا ہے کیسے، نطفے سے انسان،
    حرفت حریفوں کی، کی ہے ختم، تو جان،
    اپنی آگ میں آپ جلیں وہ، حاسد وہ سب انسان،
    کہے لطیف سب انکو چاہیں، ایسا ہے گنوان۔
