- سُر سھڻي جَي الست ارواح، کامڻ پچڻ جو بيت
اوراڙِ نَہ پَراڙِ، ويچارِي وَھَ وِچَ ۾،
سُڪِيءَ ڏَنِيءَ سُپِرِين، ٻِئو مِڙيوئِي تارِ،
تُون گِهڙُ ڪِيمَ نِھارِ، ٻُڏَندَنِ سين ٻاجُهون ڪَري.

اُوْرَارَ نَپَرَارَ وٖيْچَارِيْ وَہَ وِچَم﮼﮶
سُڪِيَ ڎَنِيَ سُپِرٍ ٻِئُوْ مِرُوْئِيْ تَارِ﮶
تُنْ کِرُ ڪِيْمَ نِھَارِ ٻُڎَنِ سَا ٻَاڄٌ ڪَرٖيْ﮶

सिन्धी देवनागिरी
ओराड़ि न पराड़ि। वेचारी वह विच में।
सुकीअ ड॒नीअ सुपिरीं। बि॒ओ मिड़ोई तारि।
तूं घिड़ु कीम नीहारि। बु॒डं॒दनि सें बा॒झूं करे।

Aoraarr'ay na paraarr'ay, wechaari wah'a wich'a mayn,
Suki'a ddani'a supireen, Bi'o mirryo'ee taar'ay,
Too'n ghhirr'u keem'a nihaar'ay, Buddandan'ay see'n Baajhhoo'n karay.

The poor woman is neither on this bank nor on the other bank; but she is in midstream. Except for the dry bank (the Hereafter) where the beloved is, every thing else is under deep water. (i.e. the worldly conditions are depressing.) "Notwithstanding you continue your efforts to swim across the river! Do not get unnerved! Allah is merciful to those persons who are about to drown!" (This is what the poet advises.)
Neither this bank nor in midstream Suhni swam,
Her love stands on opposite bank, all else is water's expanse,
Enter, look here nor there drowning ones are blessed.
Neither on this nor on the other bank, the poor girls is in midstream,
Except the dry patch the beloved is on, all else is wild water,
Enter, look not here, God is merciful to those who drown.
سهني مسكنية لست على هذا الشاطئ ولا على الشاطئ الآخر هي فى وسط طغيان الماء،
حبيبه على الساحل الجاف. وفى وسط النهر الماء العميق.
يا سهني لاتنظري ولا تري هنا وهناك- ولاكن أدخلي داخل النهر.
رب يرحم على الغارقين.
آروں دور دراڈے پاروں سوہنی رُڑہدی جاوے
ماہی بیٹھا کنڈھے اتے اوہ ٹھاٹھاں مونہہ آوے
مِہر کرے گا آپے ماہی سوہنی رکھ بھروسا
کنارا صرف ساجن کے لئے ہے
تجھے گہرا بھنور ہی راس آئے
وہیں اے سوہنی! منزل ہے تیری
جہاں تو اتفاقاً ڈوب جائے
ڈول رہی ہے بیچ بھنور میں، نہ ہی آر نہ پار،
پریتم ہی تو ساحل ہے، باقی سب منجدھار،
کیسی سوچ بچار، جو ڈوبیں ان پر کرم کرے ہے۔
ھِن سُر جي راڳ بابت
سھڻي: شاستري سنگيت ۾ ماروا ٺاٺ جي راڳڻي آھي. ھيءَ راڳڻي عام طور تي رات جي پيون پھرن ۾ ڳائي ويندي آھي. سرن جي لحاظ کان آڏو، شڌا آھي.

سُرن جي بيھڪ:
آروھا: سا گا ما ڌا ني سا
آوروھا: سا ني ڌا گا ما ڌا گا ما گا ري سا
ھن راڳڻيءَ جو وادي سر ”ڌا“ جڏھن تہ سموادي سر گا آھي. ھن راڳڻيءَ ۾ ري کان سواءِ سڀ سر تيور ۾ آھن.
